Prestigious Award

„Memorabilia Receive Another Prestigious Award“

We had more than one chance to celebrate this publication of unique construction and artistic value which emerges at the juncture of its authors’ talent and imagination and polygraphic quality. This time, the news is even more inspiring as Memorabilia stood out among a great number of projects in the prestigious Red Dot Award design event.

The Red Dot Award is one of the most distinctive design competitions in the world. For some time now the unique Red Dot mark has been recognised as one of the most sought-after assessments of high-quality design. This comes as no surprise, since the competition has been organised annually for over 60 years. Each year, creators and agencies from all over the world submit their works for the competition, with representatives from 28 countries participating this year.

This year, the official Red Dot Gala took place in Berlin, where the Chair of the Lithuanian Artists’ Association, Edita Utarienė, together with other laureates from all over the world, accepted the award. According to Edita, this is a huge recognition not only for the association but also for the people who worked on this project, including artists presented in this book, as well as being a promotion of Lithuania.

Book designer Agnė Dautartaitė-Krutulė is pleased with the prestigious award and emphasises that these awards have a tendency to highlight intellectually-reasoned or unexpectedly creative design/advertising examples.

This year, 8,697 works were submitted for the Red Dot Award competition, of which only 72 received awards. Considering these figures, it is obvious that winning projects had to stand out significantly in terms of creativity, design and production quality.

Other awards won by Memorabilia:

  • Made a shortlist consisting of four titles in the Design Week Awards (London) in the Editorial Design category
  • Winner in the Publication Design category in the competition The One Club for Creativity
  • Made a shortlist in a 50 books/50 covers competition organised by AIGA ─ the professional association for design (USA).
